Alright, so you have committed yourself to reinvigorating your kitchen cabinets with a makeover. And you know you are going to tackle this project with paint, and possibly some new cabinet pulls. But do you know how to go about the painting part properly? Well here is how.

Start by removing the handles. Next, unless you have bare wooden cabinets, you will need to degloss them. If you skip this step the new paint will not adhere the way it should. Once you have completed all the preparations, and they are ready to paint then you should take some time to think about how you want the cabinets to look, and analyse what implements you should use to get that appearance. You could use brushes for the entire thing, but then you should expect there to be visible brushstrokes. If you opted for a roller you can get a good even look, but will have difficulty getting into the harder to reach spaces. Therefore, you might want to use both a roller and a brush. Or, if you are carful, a spray could be the answer to it all, as it will give you a smooth effect. However, if you are not diligent, it can run.
