After all of the bad news that we have heard this winter about house fires, I feel I must once again take a moment to state clearly that while do it yourself projects are fun, and often challenging, please choose those you personally do wisely. This means, unless you are very experienced in the fields that apply, that there are some home projects best left to the professionals. Obviously, based upon my opener up above, this includes heating services.
Now I know just as well as the next guy that we are all trying to save where we can. That is precisely why do it yourself has become so popular. As always, I promote getting ones hands dirty, researching the unknown, and learning how to do something new that will benefit your house. Yet, there is a line over which I believe many of us should not cross as an amateur.
The heating system in a house can be very complex, and often confusing to an individual who is unfamiliar with the ins and outs of it. More importantly, when installed, or repaired improperly the heating mechanism can cause tremendous problems, none of which need ever occur. Pick your battles, and leave the rest up to the people you know have things under control.
